Special Education 101

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
  • Participants will review and understand the current legal mandates and guidelines related to Special Education, including Eligibility Determination, Initial Special Education Evaluations, and Least Restrictive Environment
  • Participants will review and interpret evidence-based strategies and best practices for IEP Development
  • Participants will analyze available data surrounding different classroom types and research on the impact classroom placement can have on student outcomes
  • Participants will review the key roles of Related Service Providers (RSPs) and identify ways in which RSPs can best support students within the school environment
